First and foremost, we at Diamond Coach wish health to each of you and your families. Many of you have asked if Diamond is still in production, the answer is yes. Though the coronavirus has not been identified in Oswego KS, it has affected our suppliers. As you are aware, many of our suppliers rely on products and parts from around the world. This will obviously affect all bus manufacturers in the near future. Compounding the problem is Ford & Chevy shutting down production. We are dependent on receiving the appropriate chassis’, so this will no doubt have an impact on Diamond’s production schedule. Diamond will do our best to communicate the progress or delays of your buses. Becky is a great resource, but please contact your sales representative first. Charlie, Caleb and myself will have weekly updates and look forward to researching and addressing your concerns and questions.
We are confident we will all get through this pandemic. However, none of us are exempt from problems and we pray that they are minimal. Let’s not lose focus on what is important. If the only thing we experience through this unfortunate time in History, are delays in bus production, then that is a win. Let’s beat this thing!

The Diamond VIP 3500 F-550 is the largest composite coach available in the mid-size bus industry and provides several unique benefits for tour operators, schools, and church groups.
“Over the past two years, Diamond Coach has elevated the overall passenger quality by providing unique design principles that are revolutionary to our industry. This now includes the F-550 charter bus that can accommodate 36 passengers — adding to our ever-growing portfolio for our loyal dealer network, ” said Kate Strickland, chief operations officer.

OSWEGO, Kan. – To meet a growing demand to carry more passengers on a medium duty chassis, Diamond Coach is pleased to announce the newest model to their portfolio, the all new VIP 3500.
The new Diamond VIP 3500 is the largest composite bus built in North America and provides several unique benefits for tour operators, schools, and church groups.
Occupancy – The VIP 3500 offers the largest passenger rating carrying up to 36 passengers including co-pilot. Popular floor plans include 35 passengers with overhead luggage and 31 passengers with rear luggage.
Comfort – For longer road trips, passengers are sure to appreciate having industry leading 83” of interior headroom. And with generous legroom between seats and 20 square feet of front viewing window, passengers will enjoy every trip.
Visibility – With large viewing windows for each passenger row, outside viewing will be a breeze.
Ride quality – Unlike metal buses that creak with every bump and turn, Diamond’s all composite Nida Core construction is smooth and quiet. Diamond buses provide superior sound dampening. For example, Diamond sidewalls are never glued, taped, or filled with Styrofoam. Diamond has lowered the passenger floor level by designing a unique floor frame structure that is innovative in the bus industry. OSWEGO, Kan. – Diamond Coach announces a new front cap enhancement that enhances driver and pedestrian safety while refreshing the appearance.
Since January 1st, Diamond dealers have been able to order a new front cap that provides a 30% larger passenger side window. This additional viewing area not only improves the driver’s opportunity to see on-coming traffic and pedestrian movements but upgrades exterior aesthetics with refined styling lines.

Please join us for the Mitch Comfort Memorial Golf Outing and Fundraiser on Friday, May 18, 2018. The event will take place at the Salina Country Club in Salina, KS. Proceeds from the event will benefit AMBUCS, a nonprofit charitable organization dedicated to creating mobility and independence for people with disabilities, as well as the Comfort family.
Mitchell Lee Comfort was the Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Diamond Coach when he unexpectedly passed last December. Born in Salina, he attended schools in Wells and Minneapolis and was a 1977 graduate of Minneapolis High School in Minneapolis, KS. He married his wife, Sharon Rietbrock, in 1984 and together they built a strong network of family, friends and associates.
Mitch was a great example of what a team leader and friend should be. His positive attitude and love for people will be missed. We honor his legacy and celebrate his life by coming together for this event while raising money for a charitable cause.
